What Are You Working On This Weekend?

You might have noticed that Tutorial9 ran into a couple of server issues this past week. I think we found the problem, but I’m going to be making a few more performance tweaks this weekend to make sure when you come to our website, the site actually loads.

It’s a good thing when websites load.

Otherwise, I’m still working away at getting features up and running around the site. Not a very exciting weekend, but happy to be on track with the Tutorial9 Preview.

How about you fine folk? Any neat projects you’ll be working on this weekend?

I’m currently working at my first major project. I already have some of the lay-out but the problem is I need to translate it to HTML + CSS. I’ve never done this before as I was always using the Photoshop’s ”Save for web” option (this would normally save the images in tables).
I wonder if there is anyone in here who could help me with this. Please send me an email, as I don’t know if I get a notification when someone replies :) .

    Thanks!

    Well, since you asked… :)
I’ll be working on a website/blog for a hair salon. A nice fluid layout, good for smartphones and the big screen, i’ll experiment with the 1140 css fluid grid and see how it works paired with wordpress….

Nothing terribly exciting here either, but a few challenges to keep my mind busy.

1 – Pushing forward with the rewrite of my AIR app. It almost feels like it’ll never be finished.
2 – Tuning WordPress Multiuser for a future project
    3 – A new WordPress theme framework

Good luck with feature builds. The site looks great!

All sounds pretty neat to me. What AIR app have you built?

Also curious to know more about your WordPress theme framework. Something you plan on making publicly available, or is it for your own practice?

The bigger AIR app is Brush Manager. It automates the installation of brushes for Corel Painter 9 and above. The new, unfinished version adds more automation and functionality and a UI that’s 1000 times better than the current — all really good stuff. Some in-progress screenshots from my dev builds: http://twitpic.com/2vg7bp/full & http://twitpic.com/1v02q1/full

Another smaller one, FruitBat, that should probably get an update in the next week automates the essential command line functions for the BlackBerry PlayBook + AIR SDK on Windows. It makes working with non-CS5 tools, including open source projects like FlashDevelop, easier for PlayBook development and testing.

As for the WordPress framework, it shares one huge thing with the AIR apps — automation. That’s all I can give away about it for now. I haven’t decided completely if I’ll release it publicly or not, but I’m leaning toward yes, at least eventually.

I am working on a webshop for an antiquarian bookstore.

The main issue I faced is to get certain books from a long list of books in a txt file into the store while other books in that same txt file should not be imported into the store.

I think I am ready to go online with the store:-).
