As lovers of technology many of us spend time at one place: our desk! There are an amazing assortment of designer desks around. In this post I’ve gathered some of the coolest, geekiest, and most interesting desks I could find!

OneLessOffice

The OneLessOffice Series showcases not only a desk but much more. This metal work of art can be found at Heckler Design.
Milk

What desk collection would be complete without Milk? Of couse I had to include this desk. If you haven’t seen it before then be sure to head over to Milk.dk to see more of the Milk awesomeness.
MUJI

For those minimalistic fans out there this desk is for you! The MUJI at MoMa is a beautiful aluminum desk.
iMac Table

Ok, so this one may look a little too much like elementary school. It is still interesting to see different desks made for Macs and PCs alike that take on new ideas. This one is by SmartDesks.com.
Also

This is an interesting concept for a desk! If you rotate it then it turns into a chair. More details here, at Behance.
Domestic Workstation

Laser cut and bent sheet metal put together cause perfect harmony? In this desk they do. Mike Devereaux designed the Domestic Workstation.
Rainbow

The Rainbow Desk designed and made by the furniture artist Allan Lake.
VU.VU.VU

This desk is just jaw dropping. So what if I don’t have a desktop? This modern computer desk is called VU.VU.VU.
White

This beautiful white desk is completely from plexiglass and is crafted by Bastian Greim.
LUNA

This desk is a little heavier in compairson to our others. LUNA Office Desk is from LUNA office collection designed by Pininfarina.
Fredrick

This beautiful desk from Ikea offers a cable shelf in the back to keep cords organized.
Glass Galant

This Galant line desk from Ikea showcases a beautiful glass top desk with metal legs. I’d be tempted to turn my desk into a whiteboard!
Mungle

The Mungle Office Desk is designed by the Greek designer Dimitrios Tsigos.
Hacked Ikea iMac Computer Desk

Gérard from The Netherlands developed his own unique solution to a problem he had with his desk space by hacking together a few pieces from Ikea into a clever spot for his iMac.

Galant ftw
Flag as inappropriategreat desks!!! thanks for sharing
Flag as inappropriateI have yet to see an iMac desk that ticks all the boxes and doesn’t look too pre-school in its design! But the VU.VU.VU. desk gets right what the iMac desk doesn’t quite achieve – smooth lines, slick and compact. Maybe it comes down to the materials…. ?
Flag as inappropriategreat desks!!! thanks for sharing
Flag as inappropriateDomestic workstation – what is that? Compare it to Rainbow, now that is a desk with some character. Imagine conducting a job interview sat behind that.
Mungle could be used as a great big heat sink with an overclocked pc – could get your work done in half the day.
Flag as inappropriateThis rainbow desk is nice as well as the mungle desk.
Flag as inappropriatenice collection, i like the rainbow desk with the different colors
Flag as inappropriateOh, so many good ones! The MIlk desk is superb
Flag as inappropriateThe Fredrick from Ikea is a knock-off/takes a lot of inspiration from a George Nelson for Herman Miller design: http://www.metroretrofurniture.com/New_Website/31Herman8040Herman.html
Flag as inappropriateI have the Fredrik desk from IKEA in white and it’s superb. The depth and width means you can view a 30-inch display comfortably.
Flag as inappropriatei like OneLessOffice, it uses an ergonomic desk chair.
Flag as inappropriatei have one ergonomic desk chair, it cause my posture at right position. thanks for sharing this information.
i have share it to my friends to.
thanks

I couldn’t see myself using but maybe 2 or 3 of those desks, there isn’t enough room for me to pile lots of crap on them! :)
Flag as inappropriateamazing, wow, I want them, really cool desk I like the 1st one its pretty geeky ;)
Flag as inappropriateobsessed with the OneLessOffice stuff. But $1065 for 4 pieces of small furniture probably means I won’t have one any time soon.
Flag as inappropriateGood design ,Thank you.
Flag as inappropriateWow, loving the desks I see. For whatever reason, workstations/desks, messy or clean have always been something that’s just beautiful to look at and imagine how you would work with them. Please check out: http://www.theultimateworkstation.com if you share the same interests. You will find some pretty interesting computer desks and places of work. Great for inspiration – and you can upload your own too. Oh forgot to mention – we like to tag our items as well with some hyperlinks. So if you see something you like, we want to try and get it to you even faster without having to search for it.
Flag as inappropriateGreat article thank for sharing
Flag as inappropriateWoa, some really inspiring ones here! I was actually thinking of making one myself.
Great collection, thanks for sharing.
Flag as inappropriateMUJI >> Either that bin is enormous or it’s floating…
Flag as inappropriateWhat happened to muja desk? Great collection you got here! Thanks!
Flag as inappropriateI like the ALSO one.
Flag as inappropriateThese are awesome, thanks for sharing.
Great reading! Thanks for sharing137
Flag as inappropriateyou guys should chech out the amazing work of Valentina with her Hyper Desk

The Vu.Vu looks pretty nice for desktops with towers. Like the foot rest. However, love my current Ikea L-shaped desk. Lots of room.
Flag as inappropriateGreat reading! Thanks for sharing125
Flag as inappropriateThanks for your post , Great post.
Flag as inappropriateI really like the Muja desk, but it wasn’t to be found on their website. That is very annoying.
Flag as inappropriateYou missed the Anthro carts.
Flag as inappropriatethe Luna and Mungle Desk are very vine, but i think no budget for it.
Flag as inappropriateGood to see my desk included, it may not cost a fortune but Fredrick is one brilliantly simple desk.
Flag as inappropriateI will kill for sure…. take a look at some cool workstations.
Flag as inappropriatehttp://www.appsheriff.com/inspiration/11-creative-concept-workstations-for-the-geek-in-you/
“Also” is best for me, but very sad I can’t buy it…
Flag as inappropriateWow – I love OneLessOffice, that’s got to be my next desk!
Flag as inappropriateMungle desk all the way. I’d feel so awesome sitting behind that thing.
Flag as inappropriateMake your own designer table at http://www.woonio.de – only in german.
Flag as inappropriateI’ve had the same old desk I had at university. The cheapest thing Ikea had at the time and I cut my teeth as a designer sitting at it for 10 years. I could never get rid of it! And almost feel ashamed of looking at all those beautifully sculptured works of art above!
Flag as inappropriateFredrick looks like the table in the school
Flag as inappropriateMy manly PC would look weird in all of those :(
Flag as inappropriateMy vote is for the white desk – nice, clean and simple form, and I really like the sides for books etc.
Flag as inappropriateI am an Apple fanboy, and some of those are really ugly. There are a few that are alright, but a lot I would kill not to use!
Flag as inappropriateI can’t believe you guys forgot the envelope desk! By far the best one out there for designers:
http://www.hermanmiller.com/Products/Envelop-Desk
Flag as inappropriateReally glad you shared this Michael, that desk is awesome! Very tempted to get one…
There are some very cool chairs at Herman Miller too.
Flag as inappropriateMy vote also goes for Luna
Flag as inappropriateSweet. Mine is so boring!
Flag as inappropriateI think I want the Milk one, or the very first one pictured with the nifty little clutter-hider thing!
Flag as inappropriateI agree with paul… no name bias here :P I have a huge L shaped desk at home and im always looking for more space.. I do audio mainly.. But maybe there is something to be said about the simplicity of these desks and making you think about how much you really need on your desk. At work its mainly filled with empty energy drink cans and paper..
Flag as inappropriateI don’t like almost all of them. There’s not much space on each one. I’ve got a really huge desk and I can’t imagine my work without it…
Flag as inappropriateHow would you work if you had “Hacked Ikea iMac Computer Desk” or “also”? There’s not enough space for anything there.
Haked Ikea! Clean.
Flag as inappropriateVery beautiful!
Nice, but I think you forgot one: http://gadgets.boingboing.net/2008/06/18/dale-mathis-clockwor.html
Flag as inappropriatewow. super desks. i like the “MILK”
Flag as inappropriateYay, I sit at a Milk table every day :-)
Flag as inappropriateJealous! Love it?
Flag as inappropriateHow much did you pay for your milk? im interested in it.
Flag as inappropriateRelax folks, a little hyperbole won’t actually kill you ;)
Flag as inappropriateTake another human life for some of these desks???
I think not.
Some are OK, well, more different than OK. I’m with alot of you guys……….many of these “Smack of Mac”.
Flag as inappropriateSeriously, I’ve seen more functionally practical desks at Office Depot.
I like minimalist desk, and voted for the white desk. Don’t like a desk with too many drawers :-)
Flag as inappropriateThe rainbow desk is amazing. I want it.
Thanks for the great post.
Flag as inappropriateThe Rainbow seems like designed by Tim Burton… I think Milk and White are my pics
Flag as inappropriateHACKED IKEA!
Flag as inappropriateI vote The LUNA Setup!
Flag as inappropriateNot very functional. Yes I would agree they seem geared to the delicate mac people.
Flag as inappropriateFirst one is nice, but not really to kill for :-)
Flag as inappropriateto be honest… not a single of these desks is worth killing for…
Flag as inappropriateI have to agree with those in favour of large desks.
Where do I throw my books, notepads, stickies, biros, brochures, multiple coffee cups with varying degrees of mold, millions of cables, cds, dvds, usb sticks that I dont use anymore, external drives that I dont use anymore, zip disks that I dont use anymore, cases for all of the things that I don’t use anymore, random unorganised customer documents, hard copies of customer photos and text, kids toys and drawings that mysteriously clutter my desk, bank statements, bank overdrafts, final warnings from banks, legal letters from banks solicitors…
Realistically I need 6ft*4ft desk.
Flag as inappropriateWow, these are some of the coolest desks I have seen in a while. I mean how can u not get inspired sitting at them.
Flag as inappropriateMan the only one that I even liked a little was the MUJI and I’m not even down with the aluminum. :/
Flag as inappropriateLove the Luna. There’s not much room, but that’s a cool design.
Flag as inappropriateNone of these are really practical… nothing special
Flag as inappropriateI wouldn’t kill for these desks. Where do you hide all the ugly cords and cables that hang down behind the desk and puddle all over the floor?
Flag as inappropriate“the coolest, geekiest, and most interesting desks” – maybe. Most useless – indeed.
I’m still looking for the ultimate desk solution (for my needs) and have come to the conclusion that I need to be wiping the dust of my table saw this summer – after mapping it all out.
Flag as inappropriatekill for an ikea desk? an UGLY ikea desk? no…
Flag as inappropriateI think almost all of those desks are really cool looking but I did not see one that is big enough to get any real work done. less than half the desks had room for a Wacom tablet your computer and paperwork. I just wouldn’t be able to get anything accomplished on any of those desks. They all look really nice though.
Flag as inappropriateI would have not included those several IKEA desks… First they are not that great and second if IKEA then they have nicer ones.
I like this one by Nils Holger Moormann called Kant:
Flag as inappropriatehttp://www.architonic.com/imgProSat/moormannsat/kantstehundkramsgr.jpg
How can you work on such a small desk? I need at least 4 square meters to put all my sketches, prints, coffee, other stuff and enoug space to move my arms freely. Looks good, but i think that form should follow function. Also in desk design ;-).
Flag as inappropriateThe Milk desk has given me some ideas for a custom desk i’m building, thanks.
Flag as inappropriatewow! these are some sweet desks, wouldn’t mind having one of these at my office :D
Flag as inappropriateVery much admire the design but will stick with my old and battered wooden one, it has character!
Flag as inappropriatemungle is great but not very usefull..I like white desk too !
Flag as inappropriatewow , it’s great idea
Flag as inappropriateThanks a lot for this quite unique post :-)
Flag as inappropriateExcellent list. I would add one more though: http://www.furnitureseen.com/blog/?p=1243

thanks for mentioning the Cavour Desk by Carlo Mollino – its hard to believe that desk was designed in 1949. Mollino, himself, was an obsessive guy, to say the least.(read more about him here:http://www.furnitureseen.com/blog/?p=1243)
You can also see a large number of modern desks from designers worldwide – although i must admit heavy representation from the Italians: http://furnitureseen.com/Modern-Furniture/Los-Angeles/Desks/1/46

Flag as inappropriateWow I wish I’d seen “One Less Office” before I bought that second monitor…I really like that!
Flag as inappropriateSome very creative examples. But my own beautiful IKEA desk ist still my favourite :)
Flag as inappropriateWhat a waste of a few minutes – I’ve actually seen some awesome desks out there – but these… not all that impressive. Sorry.
Flag as inappropriateThanks for mentioning Freshome.com :)
Flag as inappropriateWell I liked Luna, its pretty corperate…
Flag as inappropriateI’ve built a more functional desk for $35 that has more desk real estate than what I’ve seen here. Sure, they’re “designer” and mine is not but that doesn’t mean they’re functional. :)
To each their own :)
Flag as inappropriateThe first one is best! Very genius.
Flag as inappropriateim in love with the milk and muji desks simple but nice
Flag as inappropriatevery nice post
I wouldn’t kill for these desks
Flag as inappropriateAgreed. I prefer real estate & functionality.
Flag as inappropriateIs it just an Apple thing? It seems that all of these type of ads are geared to apple people who can’t be getting any work done because their desks are so small. I’m very claustrophobic and need room on my desk. I prefer functionality to yuppie style.
