How To Enter
Write a Post. Submit to contest@tutorial9.net. Where's our "That was easy" button?
It's very simple to enter the Gift of Knowledge GIVEaway. Simply write a post that fits into one of our categories at Tutorial9 (It does NOT have to be a tutorial), and send it to us. If you're entry is accepted, $100 is donated to Save the Children, and you're qualified to win some incredible prizes.
All posts should be formatted in HTML, just like any other blog posts you may have written in the past. When you've finished writing your post(s), simply put the HTML file and all your images into a .zip archive, and send it to contest@tutorial9.net.
Posting Guidelines
There are a few rules and guidelines you'll have to follow of course. They're all pretty straighforward and what you'd expect:
- Images in the post may not exceed 600px in width. They may however link to larger images.
- We like <h3> tags for headers separating areas in the post
- Your post should include a 600x260 Lead Image (to be shown at the top of the post
- Your post should include a 120x120 Thumbnail
- If you write a tutorial, include documents that may assist the reader (ie: PSD files)
- If you create a resource, be sure to include the actual resource file(s) in your submission. Also include a minimum of a two sentence description of your resource.
- Do not steal others work. Do not use photos or images you do not have the rights to us. Do not copy ideas from others. Yaddi, yaddi, yadda.
- Give credit where it is due.
- All accepted submissions may not be republished ANYWHERE else online. You may distribute your entry offline in any manner you wish.
- Also, you may not submit posts that have already been published anywhere in the past.
- Not all entries will be accepted. Posts must meet a quality standard in order to qualify. This is determined by the staff at Tutorial9.
What can I write about?
What exactly can you write about? Well, that's totally up to you, but here are some ideas to get you headed in the right direction:
- Tutorials (duh!) for Photoshop, Illustrator, Photography, Blogging, XHTML, PHP, AJAX, CSS, or Web Development.
- Write a roundup featuring your favorite books, typography tutorials, or featuring creative blogs.
- Write a post that teaches other people how to blog better!
- Create a set of Photoshop Brushes, Icons, or a Vector Pack.
- Develop a killer Wordpress Theme!
- Write about cool lighting tricks from your Photography Experience.
- ANYTHING that teaches, offers new resources for our readers to work with, or shares experiences that will help others is more than likely an acceptable entry.
If you're still not sure about whether or not your entry is considered "acceptable" you can send your idea for your post(s) to contest@tutorial9.net, and we'll get back to you with an answer as quickly as we can!

To participate, all you need to do is share your knowledge with the community. Submit an article, tutorial, resource, or roundup to share with our readers, and you may win a fantastic prize package.
