Hey folks! Hope everyone is enjoying Tutorial9 so far! We’re getting a lot of great feedback from our viewers, and from folks stumbling into us from around the world. It’s a busy week behind the scenes here at T9, so I thought I’d throw out some interesting information for everyone to feed on in the meantime.
Where We Stand
We’re currently preparing for our big launch in the coming months. It’s taken a little longer than we originally anticipated, but we strongly believe it’s worth the extra time we’ve put into the project. By the end of April, Tutorial9 will have a thriving community forum, lots of great tutorial authors, and more importantly quite a few incredible tutorials.
At this time, we’re still seeking very talented authors and designers to come work for us. We’re currently offering around $100 per tutorial accepted for our authors, so if you know anyone looking for a nice side job, please let us know.
How Many of Us Are There?
Tutorial9 currently has 9 writers (haha… that actually wasn’t planned or anything, we are looking for more), but you’ve only had the opportunity to see 3 of them. Not too much to say about myself, but if you haven’t had a chance to meet two of our other writers, here’s your chance.
Meet Fredrik Silverglimth, our residential photography expert from Sweden. Fredrik’s been on our authoring team for several years now, and was even helping us out when we were working on GreyCobra. He’s incredible with everything he does, and runs a blog of his own (as well as a personal portfolio, which is DEFINITELY worth a look).
And then there’s Isaac Murray, the newest addition to our team of talented authors. Isaac is an awarded photographer and designer, and is continuing to further his abilities in college at this point. He’s got a blog and portfolio of his own, and we’re ecstatic to see what else he has in store for us here at Tutorial9.
Finally, there are people like you. Our mission here at Tutorial9 is to always serve our viewers amazing, fresh, and free tutorials that can’t be found anywhere else on the net. Although we haven’t started promoting T9 around the web quite yet, we’ve already got nearly 100 subscribers on our Tutorials Feed, and we’re seeing thousands of viewers every week. What’s more interesting though, is that almost all of our viewers are being referred to us from other websites instead of search engines. This means that are viewers are eager to share our new resource with the rest of the web, and that really gets us excited here!
What’s Coming Next?
In the next few weeks, you’ll see a few new things around Tutorial9. Of course, you’ll see lots of new tutorials as we gear up for our big launch. You’ll also see our community forums open up to all of our viewers (things seem to be running pretty well with our small batch of testers).
You might also see Tutorial9 get another polishing job before we take off:

It’s a bit more shiny. We like shiny things.

Can’t wait
Sounds absolutely awesome. The forums will be great!

But where have all those nice greycobra tutorials gone? like the “laser text” and the “candy cane text” effects?

On the tutorials on the front page, and the header of ever tutorial, the CSS is screwing up for me, using MS IE 6… the text is overlapping into the image on the left side. BTW My resolution is running on 1280 x 1024, thought you might want to take a look at that. E-mail me if you want me to send you a screen shot
Hey Duncan,
We’re working on a fix for this among other things. Thanks for the heads up!
