Heres what you do in step 4.
You have now your gradient layer right?
1. Do you see that letter "T" icon on your First letter? all of the text layer has a "T" icon, it indicates that its on a Text Layer, Now simple Cntrl+click that icon....not the layer name but the "T" icon
do you see that moving lines thing arround the letter?
if it shows that way. it means your on the right track...
2. Then just simply click on your gradient layer.
3. Now you copy the gradient layer.
4. then paste..
but nothing happeds right?
its ok you've done it right...
5. Then make the first letter that you selected earlier invisible , by simply clicking on the "EYE" on the text layer...

and you will see the gradient effect...
6. Lastly do it all on the text... then your done.. :)

Step 4 help pls.
I did my gradient white to black (I changed the transparency of it.. even if I don’t I still get my problem). I can select the 1st letter and if I double click it a box opens (blending options)? So I single click it
I click the gradient and it highlights (there is no way it won’t high light)
now the 1st letter and gradient layer are selected
I am able to copy the letter but the letter has no gradient effect on it.
Thanks for the tutorial its great

For Step 7: Right click on the Duplicated Layer (the one with the Gaussian Blur) and select BLENDING OPTIONS, then, on the new dialog, enable OUTTER GLOW.

Lower the opacity to approximately 50% on your Color Layer.

If you need more color you can duplicate your Color Layer and apply again a Gaussian Blur on this duplicated Color Layer as stated.
